Mikado City lives under constant threat from Neighbors, invaders who pour in through gates from another dimension. Osamu Mikumo, an earnest middle-schooler who dreams of joining the defense organization Border, meets a strange transfer student named Yuma Kuga. Yuma turns out to be from the Neighbor side, carrying overwhelming power and a carefree attitude that upends Osamu's careful life. Their meeting sets Daisuke Ashihara's sci-fi action in motion.
