Rokuro finally reaches Sakanashi, desperate to take Benio back. But he is too late: Sakanashi's ritual is already complete, and before Rokuro's very eyes Benio transforms into something no longer human. When he tries to resist, Sakanashi's power pins him down and leaves him helpless. Their goal is the mainland, where Sakanashi means to bring the abominable Taizan Fukun into being.
