Waking in the ruined future, Tsuna and Gokudera are ambushed by Millefiore assassins. Tsuna's resolve and Gokudera's loyalty ignite the flames of their Vongola Rings, and the two barely fend off their attackers. But their present-day strength is nowhere near enough against the enemies of this era. Realizing that surviving and growing stronger is the only way home, Tsuna decides to learn how battles are fought in this world and asks his former instructor Lal Mirch to train him, though she carries a heavy secret of her own.

In the future Tsuna's group has been thrown into, Box Weapons that convert flames into power have become the standard way of fighting. Nothing from the present applies. Lal Mirch is a former Arcobaleno whose growth was frozen by a curse, and her identity and past drive the group forward. Meanwhile the Guardians left in the present are also summoned to the future, and the scattered friends begin to reunite. Byakuran's true goal is to seize the "Trinisette" and rule all parallel worlds, with the Vongola Boxes and Rings as the key. Through training and reunion, the counterattack begins to take shape.
