Fujino and Kyomoto form a creative duo and build a life around drawing manga together. Eventually Kyomoto leaves to study art on her own, and the two drift apart. Then tragedy strikes: Kyomoto is killed in a horrific attack at her art school. Crushed by grief and guilt, Fujino believes she was the one who pulled Kyomoto into this world. But a four-panel comic Kyomoto left behind, thanking Fujino for making her draw, reignites her resolve. She picks up her pen again, carrying Kyomoto with her in every panel.
