The practice match between Seirin and powerhouse Kaijo, home of Generation of Miracles member Ryota Kise, kicks into high gear. Kuroko and Kagami team up to shut Kise down, but a hard collision injures Kuroko and sends him to the bench. With Kuroko sidelined, Seirin is driven into a corner, but the grit of captain Hyuga, Izuki and the other second-years keeps them clinging on. In the closing minutes Kuroko returns and clicks back into sync with Kagami, who slams home a dunk as if newly awakened. Seirin edges out Kaijo in a nail-biter, and Kise bitterly wonders why Kuroko chose Seirin over him. His obsession and rivalry toward Kuroko come to the surface as Seirin topples its first Generation of Miracles opponent, taking a solid step toward the Winter Cup.
