When word spreads that the demon god Wolbach has appeared in the capital, Megumin and Yunyun go pale. As a child, Megumin once accidentally broke Wolbach's seal back in her hometown, and now she's convinced that Chomusuke, the little black cat tagging along with the party, is actually the demon god in disguise. Kazuma isn't sure whether to believe her, but if it's true, it spells disaster. Volume 16 mixes Megumin's hidden past with the usual gloriously stupid antics.
