As Shin closes on the inner palace, Sei Kyou's trump card, the giant Ran Kai, blocks the way. Fighting like a beast rather than a man, he tramples the allies, but Shin claws forward, feeding on his comrades' sacrifices, and finally strikes Ran Kai down. In the throne room, Sei Kyou clings to bloodline and pride to the end, only to fall before Ei Sei's unshakable royal presence. The rebellion is fully crushed and Ei Sei recovers the capital. Through this battle, Shin first tastes what it means to make a name on the field, taking his first true step toward becoming a Great General.
