Having won a brief peace through victory in the Coalition war, Qin now finds a shadow creeping up from within. The revolt at Tonryu is a plot pulled by forces connected to the Ryo Fui faction, and Sei Kyou is driven into the position of little more than a scapegoat held up as a figurehead. Even against his own brother, Ei Sei commits the Fei Xin Unit as the main force to cut down the sprouts of rebellion. Torn by having to fight fellow men of Qin, Xin and the others still head to the battlefield to carry out the royal command. There is bitter irony in Sei Kyou—who once raised the banner of revolt against Ei Sei—now being ensnared into baring his fangs at the royal house again. Right after repelling the Coalition, that "outer enemy," the fight against the "enemy within" begins. The start of a new chapter where Ei Sei's way as king and the ties between brothers intersect.
