The demons of the spider mountain are a false family bound by force by Rui, a member of the Twelve Kizuki. Obsessed with making Nezuko his new family member, Rui corners Tanjiro with his threads. Tanjiro ignites the Hinokami Kagura sleeping in his father's memory and, combining it with Nezuko's Blood Demon Art Exploding Blood, cuts through Rui's unbreakable threads. Yet it is the Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka, appearing like the wind, who finally slays Rui. Almost simultaneously, the Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho reaches the mountain. Before the overwhelming power of the Hashira, Tanjiro is made to grasp his own immaturity and the staggering heights of the Corps.
