With the mountain paths buried in snow, the inn becomes an inescapable island where a screaming nightmare unfolds. The real treat is how the horror keeps collapsing into laugh-out-loud comedy thanks to the cast's wonderfully off-kilter reactions. Volume 23 also wraps up Katsura's jailbreak from the previous volume and brings back a former Yorozuya member, weaving gags and old ties together.
