⚠️ Spoilers ahead.

Volume 27 opens the biggest leftover homework after the finale—why petrification happened—by attacking time itself. Having survived the stone world, rebuilt civilization, and reached the moon, Senku’s Kingdom of Science steps into time-machine design. Theory alone is not enough: absurd energy, hyper-precise control, and the risk of erasing history if a single variable slips. Chrome owns the muddy materials work; Kohaku and the field team become the project’s legs; Taiju pours the glue of morale. Knowledge from former foes and allies like Xeno and Stanley crosses the table, and the machine that rewrites the future suddenly feels real. The pivot is a message from the future, sent by someone unexpected. Who, from when, warning what. The note inflates hope for completion while proving the path after success is not a single road. Branches that save history and branches that collapse it shake each character’s ethics. Senku calmly rebuilds the equation for “save all of humanity,” but the colder the math, the hotter the human ties on site. Whose life is prioritized? Which version of themselves gets overwritten? For the first time, the victory condition of science collides with the definition of right itself. Mid-volume alternates craft and confrontation. A one-part tolerance error deranges the whole apparatus; the boss is not a person but the tolerance of time. By the end the plan advances on paper, yet the sender and true intent of the message still withhold their full face. The hope is real. Behind it sits a colder calculation wired straight into the origin of petrification. Volume 27 is the spark plug of the sequel: not a “what next” epilogue, but a hard turn into tracing the cause.
