Case Closed volume 31. In the Kashiragami woods, an unidentified body is found, seemingly a suicide from four years ago, dated by the expiry of milk and bread hidden inside the corpse. Conan senses something wrong and digs into a death everyone had written off. The second half moves to Osaka, where Conan and Heiji Hattori tour a warlord's castle and untangle a chain of puzzles built around swords and old rivalries. A single overheard remark can crack a whole case wide open.

Case Closed Vol. 31 spoilers
⚠️ Spoilers ahead.
The Kashiragami body is not a suicide but a murder disguised as one; Conan exposes the trick through inconsistencies between the food's expiry and the body's condition. In the Osaka arc, the chain of incidents around the warlord's castle hides an old grudge over a sword and family treasure. Heiji's local instinct and Conan's eye combine to unmask the man calling himself a swordsman. In the "judge swordsman" case, revenge dressed as justice is revealed and the culprit is cornered by his own blade. The castle-treasure thread carries over into the next volume.
