In the mountain episode, the mystery of Kogoro's disappearance ties into the case, and Conan's reasoning safely uncovers the truth. Heiji nearly confesses to Kazuha against the sunset, but as always her oblivious reactions and ill-timed interruptions get in the way, and the decisive words never quite reach her. In the Kid arc, the thief who sought the jewel is framed for murder and temporarily joins forces with Conan to prove his innocence. Seeing through the trick, Kid exposes the real culprit and vanishes elegantly with the jewel. The name of high school detective Shinichi Kudo also comes into play, and hints for the upcoming film are scattered throughout.
